21st Century Skill Set?

At my school we have been having this discussion.  We have to prepare our students to have a 21st Century Skill Set in order to compete in this world.  I am looking for input.....what is the 21st Century Skill Set?

  1. Others will talk about learning strategies and the information age, etc. All well and good. But,I would think THE most important skill set is a FULL TOOL BELT of communication skills. Precise meanings, multi syllable words used correctly. Proof Reading. Learning to listen and respond, not waiting for your turn to speak, trying to be witty. Pride in your education and training. Don't be ashamed to sound intelligent. And valuing these skills enough to develop them. "My two cents" Mark R. :)

  2. I read an article about a year ago that spoke candidly about the lack of leadership skills in today's workforce. While not a scholarly piece, I found myself in agreement with the ideas she was sharing. For what it's worth:
